Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region have many beautiful sides and attractive features. Landscape, culture, festivals - residents and visitors are really offered a lot here. But there is one very special unique selling point that makes this region so special: cider. He unifies the culturally diverse region in a culinary way and, as Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann points out, belongs to the culinary heritage of the region. It is based on our tradition and craftsmanship. Just as a "Schobbe" makes the end of work day perfect for many people living here, an apple wine tasting has long been a must for many tourists. This is why cider is a very interesting topic for tourism in Frankfurt and the surrounding area, which is why Tourismus + Congress GmbH, together with the Verband der hessischen Apfelwein- und Fruchtsaftkeltereien e.V. and Societätsverlag Frankfurt, has decided to produce an overview of cider culture in the region.

Treuen The name of the book might seem familiar to users, as it is the same as our annual "Best of Apfelwein" election. The fact that this book, which is aimed at Frankfurters as well as at all visitors to our beautiful region, bears the same name is only confirmation for us of what a good choice we made a little over three years ago with the name for our culinary user votes. But now back to the book, which Mayor Peter Feldmann presented together with the two authors Bernd Buchterkirch and Julia Söhngen, as well as Thomas Feda of the Tourismus + Congress GmbH and Martin Heil, chairman of the association of the Hessian cider and fruit juice pressing houses e.V., in the cider shop of Jens Becker (more to this great location HERE to our Genuss-Tipps).

The book in handy pocket format presents some interesting and amusing facts about cider, presents local medium-sized wineries and their ideas as well as some important personalities for the local cider culture. The reader learns something about the different apple varieties, which find their way from the orchard meadow to the ribbed one, gets some recipe tips offered and finds here a listing of recommendable Keltereien and apple wine pubs in Frankfurt, Hanau, Offenbach, the Wetterau or also the Hochtaunus.

The texts are informative, the portraits charmingly written and the accompanying pictures are well chosen. It's fun to browse through the book and deepen your knowledge about cider and our region. The book is also intended to give visitors to Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region an understanding of our apple wine culture. But it also has enough nice tips and information for locals to offer. The nice portraits alone make the book an entertaining read, which not only apple wine lovers can warmly recommend. Recommended]
