2.The Rhine-Main region around Frankfurt is primarily seen by many as an important business location and is therefore more associated with airports, skyscrapers and the densely populated residential areas than with the countryside. But the region also has a completely different side, which can be perfectly discovered in the "Cycling and Hiking Guide Rhine-Main Regional Park". The authors Kristiane Müller-Urban and Eberhard Urban present the 190 kilometres comprehensive Regionalpark-Rundroute in the second edition of their cycling and hiking guide in twenty-seven tours, on which the reader can discover the diversity of the landscape, beautiful, exciting and surprising.
After a short introductory presentation of the Regionalpark Rhein-Main and after some general tips of the authors follows a detailed description of the individual tours. Length, degree of difficulty, access and departure possibilities by public transport and important information on opening times of sights or places to stop are listed here. In addition, the routes are described vividly, but not too excessively. The texts make you want to go on one of the tours, but still leave the reader enough space to discover the variety of nature and places of interest for himself.
The book, enriched with maps and many illustrations, is well suited to be carried along on the corresponding cycling and hiking tours thanks to the practical ring binding. The necessary information can always remain open and is thus very quickly at hand. Whether you are attracted to Opel Zoo, whether you want to follow the Nidda route to Karben, whether you want to visit Hayn Castle on the way from Neu-Isenburg to Langen or whether you want to cycle along the Main from Frankfurt to Hochheim, in this book you will find all the information and suggestions you need to discover the Rhine-Main Regional Park on foot or by bike. New in this edition are also a wonderful tour through the Hessian Ried and one along the Taunushanges. Both tours are a great enrichment for the already very nice book.
Der "Rad- und Wanderführer Regionalpark RheinMain" offers entertaining reading with vividly written texts. There will hardly be a reader who, after reading the book, doesn't feel the urge to get on his bike or put on his hiking boots and try one of the 27 tours himself. All in all, an informative and entertaining guide that has the right tour for almost every need. Recommended]
