What could be nicer than relaxing with a cup of coffee in a nice ambience, letting everyday life become everyday with a tasty piece of cake or an extensive breakfast? The Main metropolis of Frankfurt offers a variety of cafés, ranging from trendy shops and traditional coffee houses to small, very unusual insider tips for just about every taste. Angelika Zinzow, Thorben Leo, Nicole Hoehne and Michael Behrendt have dedicated the beautifully and lovingly designed book "Frankfurter Caféklatsch", which portrays selected cafés, to this colourful diversity. Not only ambience and offer are presented, but also the owners and even guests are portrayed.

This way the book succeeds in establishing a wonderfully relaxed café atmosphere, which makes you want to visit the presented cafés while leafing through the richly illustrated book. Of course, the many aesthetic images that have captured Frankfurt's café life in a very apt and appealing way also contribute to this. This starts with the first pictures of an extremely tasty, freshly laid breakfast table, which at the end of the book has fallen victim to the hunger of the guests - but looks no less appealing.

The book presents such different establishments as the traditional Café Wackers, the beautiful Café im Liebighaus (always worth a visit just because of the homemade cake!), the Café Hauptwache, which is an integral part of Frankfurt's cityscape, the newcomer Starbucks but also insider tips such as the Café Liebesdienste or the Children's Café Zebulon. Whether modern and rather cool, whether cosy or functional, whether traditional or shrill, the varied hustle and bustle of the Frankfurt café landscape in all its facets is presented here with much love for the object. Through the accompanying texts, the book also succeeds in capturing the feeling of life that the individual houses and the people who work or relax in them have. It can then, in combination with viewing the pictures, directly transfer itself to the reader, who has the feeling of smelling the fresh coffee and the fragrant cakes, hearing the babble of voices of the guests and being able to absorb the relaxing atmosphere of the cafés.

"Frankfurter Caféklatsch" is a wonderful book, which convinces as interesting reading, but also simply as a picture book to browse. There is simply no better work for this gastronomic side of Frankfurt. Absolutely recommended!
