Sustainability, fair trade, organic farming, ecological awareness - these are all points that are occupying more and more people in their everyday lives. Whether they are shopping, eating out or spending their leisure time, they would like to be guided by these aspects. But this is often easier said than done. Because it is not always easy to find out whether a retailer offers organic products, whether a shop offers goods from fair trade or where great value is placed on sustainability. The non-profit association Reflecta would like to remedy this with the "Green City Guide Frankfurt". In different chapters Frankfurt is presented here by its particularly green, fair, ecological and beautiful sides.
The offer is subdivided first according to districts. Whether in the city centre, Sachsenhausen, Gallus, Nordend, Bornheim, Bockenheim or Westend, here the reader gets a colourful compilation of important addresses for all situations in life. From organic bakers to health food shops, second-hand shops, markets, garden centres to cafes or even baby carriage organic cleaning, you will find what you are looking for here in almost all areas of everyday life. The addresses presented are supplemented by photos and various interviews, for example with city councillor Rosemarie Heilig, Lovis Willenberg from the Heldenmarkt or Joerg Weber from Bürger AG.
After visiting the individual districts, a few short articles follow, for example on organic labels or sustainability in banking. Afterwards the book visits the green pages of Frankfurt and offers some nice excursion tips. Whether Palmengarten, Goetheturm, Schwanheimer Dünen, LILU or Alter Flugplatz Bonames - in this part of the book it becomes very clear how green and versatile Frankfurt is and how many beautiful excursion destinations the city has to offer.
Even if you don't just buy your food at the organic market or at the weekly market, even if you don't pay attention to where it was made from which material with every item of clothing, this city guide is a really beautiful and helpful work that provides interesting, versatile and sometimes surprising tips for shopping, going out and enjoying. Absolutely recommended!
