Autumn is in full swing, leaves on the roadside as well as the changeable weather and the change to the winter time testify to this. But for me there is no autumn depression since I got used to discovering something special in this supposedly grey month.
Which events in Hessen and Frankfurt open up a new world for me, I'll tell you today.
Jüdische Kulturwochen: Moving, enthralling, surprising
First of all: The Jewish Culture Weeks - the Jewish community in Frankfurt is an enrichment without equals at all.
I already told you a year ago how Jewish life shows up in the city all year round in the post "Tanz, Film und Musik".
Intensive experiences promise the Jewish culture weeks. Since its foundation about 30 years ago, we have been able to experience the diversity of Jewish culture in Frankfurt.
This year, among others, Canadian rappers and Polish Jewish New York delights will be on hand - rousing and surprising experiences guaranteed!
The literary-musical program will be dedicated to commemoration on November 9 with survivors of the Shoa. (On the tracks of November 9 in Frankfurt's Ostend, the Jewish Museum's own guided tour .)
In addition to the moving, inspiring and unexpected awaits visitors until November 17. The Jewish Culture Weeks are a date that I always mark red in my calendar so that I don't miss it.
If it were up to me, it should be a Jewish Culture Week all year round. Above all, I want a real Jewish café, as I discovered it in Berlin. Well, what isn't, can one day also become here on the Main.
My personal highlight: Above all the immersion in the Jewish-American baking culture - as it will be experienced in the Schirn.
Fine bagels x Badies in the Schirn Café,
Eierkichle nach Rezept von Herrn Katz,
Experience the world
However, in November I'm already sitting on the sofa and making travel plans. My dog comes originally from the Himalaya or Tibet, so this year I have discovered a new area. Rough mountains, rough climate - this area is strange and fascinating at the same time.
After having read all the illustrated books that can be borrowed from the city library about the Himalayas, I am happy to have the opportunity to learn more about this area.
How? At the all-day National Geographic travel festival. Hallooo?
That's a house number. Who knows the wonderful magazines of the National Geographic, knows about the excellent quality of the texts and pictures.
For more than 100 years, American society has been bringing the world and its geography closer to us - photojournalists and other professionals allow us to share their experiences up close: the threatened jungle worlds, the diverse animal world of Africa and the peaks and gods of the Himalayas.
Autumn will be an experience, won't you agree? What are you planning for this month?
