Psssst.....acht resting places in Frankfurt

Will we be in free space - doing nothing, just hanging out with our thoughts, like on vacation? And then, after a few weeks, we are stuck in the same daily rhythm again: taking on more than we might want, quickly checking emails again or commenting on Facebook about the latest, admittedly often very funny dog video, and at some point we have the feeling of being more driven than rulers over our time. We live in times where even in a library the cell phones are ringing and readers are allowed to borrow earplugs.

Now, positive hustle and bustle is not inherently bad, often we just crave a few minutes of downtime. For most, that's all it takes to get back to themselves. Easier said than done. Instead of rest, we feel just how fidgety we are, it pushes us to reach for the smartphone again. Or what did you think about the space? Did you read over it? Were you irritated? Or amazed? So, but this is not meant to be a yoga meditation lesson. If you're up for it, you'll find plenty on offer in Frankfurt in general. But this week in particular:

  1. Silent Shipping on the Main, As part of the "<link http: wochederstille.de programm.html _blank>Week of Silence", only this Saturday from 6 pm: Mainufer, Weseler Werft.
  2. The roof garden in the new Europaviertel forms an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city
  3. The inner courtyard of the Dominican monastery creates surprising effect
  4. In the middle of the park: the ramparts meander once around the city center, choose your favorite section or seek out the Obermainanlage with its fountain pond.
  5. Explore the enchanted little garden with its Asian-looking wooden bridge in the Ostpark

  7. Night at the museum. How about a flashlight tour through the <link http: www.senckenberg.de root _blank>Senckenbergmuseum? At different times, kids, teens and adults can sneak past dinosaurs and other critters.
