Are you also infected by the January blues? The year is not really getting underway yet. Sigh. The bacon hasn't gone yet either. Little cause for joy so far. We could of course take it like our "still friends", the Londoners.
They have been organizing a "No trousers on the tube Day" for eleven years in the first month of the new year to drive away the January Blues.
We now know that English humour has been a very special one ever since.</And whoever is now wondering how our English friends implement the action in the subway on the way to work, and is wondering whether they really drop their pants, then I can assure you: yes.</Ladies and gentlemen wear twisted yarn on top, pumps or polished lace-up shoes on the bottom and speedo briefs or granny's love killers in the middle. Naggish trousers included.
Who doesn't believe that, just google…
But we don't have to take such drastic measures in Frankfurt.</A survey on my Instagram account showed that most of you would find it just too cold. We always think so wonderfully practical in Germany. (Attention: no irony. Seriously meant)
But what to do against the January Blues? Four things that the people of Frankfurt should definitely discover and try out in January!
· Ins Mal Seh’n Kino for the Hessian Documentary Film Day on 26 January. The selected documentary film is super exciting - it is about Europe's last feudal state, the island of Sark in the English Channel. Imagine, only ten years ago the first democratic elections were held here. And even now there is a struggle for democracy, freedom of opinion and freedom of the press. Oh, the "Mal Seh’n" is also a super cool cinema, of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world!
· ice rink on the Main river bank. Powering down from the office right on the ice will only last until this Sunday, January 19. Rental skates directly at the rink! Afterwards to warm up in the Frankfurt tavern next door. What a beautiful Sunday.
· The weather is crazy. Some mornings I can already drive with the top down and hear the birds chirping. Am I the only one who feels like spring? But being active, jogging outside is even more fun. My favourite running tracks are of course the Niddapark in the west of Frankfurt or the newly designed Ostpark. Situated opposite the ice rink, the green space office has laid a runner-friendly surface.
Who, on the other hand, Fitnessclubs preferred, here on Frankfurt-Tipp we present you always new things.
But maybe you ask yourself, which sport fits you at all? Then have a look at my blog post, with self-test.
· If you are not yet ready for Rambazamba and action, just put on a mask! It may not be carnival yet, but a fresh face never hurt anyone.
More suggestions can be found as always in the current print edition of Frankfurt-Tipp. We bring you through January, or through the year at all ;-)
What do you think of the English idea? And which of my four tips will get you through January?
