Swing, Fun and Games - Mini Golf at the Nidda

Today I have some really good news for all of us: Not only has it been "Hooray, the sun is here, let's run outside" for days. No, to the nice weather prospects (rainy days in between are just ignored :-)) comes a much better news: May is just around the corner! For most of us, that means yay, lots of days off.

What do you like to do on warm days off? I get a hankering for barbecues, picnics, and just lounging around outside on a blanket. Jogging a few laps through one of the many parks or biking around town for all I care. <link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de insidefrankfurt s shopping schoener-radeln-kann-frankfurt-fahrrad-metropole-werden.html _blank>I was just wondering here on the blog if Frankfurt could become a cycling metropolis.

In any case, I'm looking forward to the coming days, when the sky will be blue, the weather will delight us with ideal temperatures and a gentle breeze will blow - a bit like being on holiday.

Well, and now I have to tell you where there is a place in Frankfurt that offers all those activities together and on top of that a charming, surprising pastime.

I won't beat around the bush: Who of you still remembers good old miniature golf? Last Sunday I took a walk along the Nidda. First through the huge park, which is so big that it borders at least three different districts (among others Bockenheim, Hausen and Ginnheim) - with about 168 hectares it is the biggest green space of the city.

Along the Nidda you can have a wonderful picnic and barbecue. And right next to it is a pretty, well-maintained miniature golf course. Finally time for friends and family with nice conversations and carefree fun - wonderful!

Minigolf Frankfurt: Bye, bye, boredom

The minigolf at the Nidda is a classic facility with 18 holes. Read more about it on <link https: www.rheinmain4family.de landinpages die-schoensten-minigolfplaetze-im-rhein-main-gebiet.html _blank>RheinMain4family.de.

This is how I imagine a casual day: First a little brunch. Then some exercise for the body with trying to hit that unspeakably small ball into the net. Remember that one lane with the horrible net? I think I managed once in my life to place the ball in the net within the allowed number of strokes as intended.

The course is, as I said, pretty. Last Sunday there were families or groups there to spend the day relaxing. I really liked the entrance to the course: for the first lane, all game-goers must step through a thickly overgrown, triumphant arch-like passageway. If you want to take a break, relax a bit or just have an ice cream or a coffee while cycling along the Nidda, you can settle down at nicely arranged wooden tables and watch the others play. So, great views, right? Can you recommend any other mini golf courses?
