Why wander far and wide when the good things are so close? Buying and enjoying regionally is again fully in the trend. Konstantin Kalveram and Michael Rühl have also discovered this with their books "Potatoes, Fish & Feathered Livestock - Good Food Shopping in Frankfurt and the Surrounding Area" (you can find our review HERE) and "Frankfurt's cider guide" (You can find the detailed review HERE) and Susanne Stahl with "Handgefertigt - Manufakturen in Frankfurt und Umgebung" (Go to the review HERE). Now the three with "Frankfurt Regional" present a kind of best of these three booklets - this time in a neat large format.
Those who already know the three books will discover little really new here. But anyone looking for a beautifully designed, versatile and informative guide to the colourful world of offerings in the region simply can't miss this collection. Whether the Frankfurt-Tipp.de "Best of Apfelwein 2015"-winner, the Obsthof am Steinberg, the new cult bakery "Zeit für Brot" in Nordend, the Alte Gewürzamt by Ingo Holland in Klingenberg, the Frankfurt Stadtimkerei finger, the L`Abbate cheese factory in Offenbach or Bembel from the pottery Maurer - in this book there really is something to discover for every taste.
A mixture of beautiful photographs and informative, charmingly written texts make this journey through the culinary and creative sides of our region so worth reading. It is a rousing declaration of love to all the people who pursue their professions with full passion, creating things that can sweeten our everyday lives in every way. Anyone who places great value on knowing where their food and products come from should definitely put this book on their shelf. It will definitely not gather dust there, because it is always fun to rummage around in it and discover new things. Absolutely recommendable!
