Of course, the question will accompany the announcement that a new burger restaurant has opened in Frankfurt: Does the town need another burger shop? In principle, the question is justified, because there are already plenty of shops offering burgers in Frankfurt - and some of them are really good. And yet the Frankfurt branch of the HANS IM GLÜCK Burgergrill franchise founded by Thomas Hirschberger in Munich in 2010 can be seen as an enrichment for the local gastronomic landscape. Of course, this is primarily due to the quality of the culinary offer. HANS IM GLÜCK not only scored well in many cities in Germany, but also in Austria and even Singapore.
Besides burgers with juicy beef or tender chicken breast, the menu offers a large selection of vegetarian and vegan burger creations. Seven vegetarian and four vegan burgers stand on the card designed in a fairy tale book look. Fresh ingredients are of course the be-all and end-all. During our visit we tried the "Wild West": juicy beef with a slice of strong hay-milk cheese, a spicy grill sauce and roasted onions between two halves of sourdough rolls. We ordered a cabbage salad that far exceeded our expectations. The burger itself
Beside the variant we tried, there are also burgers with brie and cranberries, avocado cream, brie with grilled vegetable tartar and rocket or very unusual with fried pear, mild gorgonzola sauce and walnuts. And of course the classics should not be missing from the range. But even a simple "standart" burger somehow tastes special thanks to the sauces produced especially for HANS IM GLÜCK - especially good of course. If you like, you can order all beef burgers with a pepper crust.
Beside burgers and side dishes like homemade bread or fries there are also a number of salads on the menu. Whether "opulent" (rocket, Parma ham, hard cheese, cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and Parmesan dressing), "lucky child" (mixed salad, hard cheese, mushrooms and Parmesan dressing) or "golden throat" (rocket, chicken breast, mushrooms and nut dressing) - there is really something for every taste. For all allergy sufferers there is, by the way, an extra card on which all ingredients and ingredients are listed, so that there are no nasty surprises.
Of course a tasty meal also includes the right drink. We can recommend the homemade iced tea "fruit salad mint" - the perfect thirst quencher for hot summer days. Refreshingly fruity and simply delicious. Various non-alcoholic offers, but also numerous cocktails can be ordered here. Your palate gets its money's worth both when eating and drinking. But HANS IM GLÜCK is not only about the culinary aspect, but about the whole package. The guest should feel at home here, no matter whether he just comes by for a quick lunch break or wants to stay longer with friends after work.
That's why the franchise not only focuses on a very special feel-good ambience, which is achieved by room-high, genuine birch trunks, furniture made of Lower Bavarian oak, wallpaper made of pressed flowers and loving furnishing details such as the fairytale fountain, birdhouse lamps or the visiting card pig. The service should also contribute to the guest feeling comfortable here. This is to be achieved with a mixture of looseness - the service staff do not wear uniforms - and perfect organisation, which is to guarantee a fast, uncomplicated process. And this is also a difference to many other burger restaurants: HANS IM GLÜCK is a full-service restaurant. Here you don't order at the counter, but the order is taken at the place.
Ach yes: In Frankfurt there is by the way a real special feature. The team around managing director Dominik Kellner has succeeded in ensuring that apple wine is also served in the Main metropolis. You can also enjoy a glass of Old Höchstädter with your burger. Now there is really no reason to pay this culinary newcomer to Frankfurt a welcome visit. For most people who love burgers, it's guaranteed that they won't stop at this one visit.
