French cuisine in a class of its own
Wouldn't you just break away from everyday life and treat yourself to a relaxing holiday? A pleasant time-out that just makes you happy? Admittedly, simply taking a spontaneous short break is out of the question for most people. But sometimes a short trip is enough to dive into another world and recharge the batteries. Such a place is also the restaurant Fleur de Sel in Maintal. Here the Theumer family pampers their guests not only with an exquisite cuisine that combines regional ingredients with French and Mediterranean influences. Also with a harmonious Ambiente is ensured for the fact that one feels here like with a short vacation in South France - and that in the middle in the Rhine Main area
It is avowed goal of the family that humans feel simply well in their restaurant and can enjoy here with all senses. The fact that this succeeds so well is due on the one hand to the Theumers' close ties to France and its cuisine. The mother of managing director and chef Patrick Theumer is French and his sister Christine ran the restaurant "Au Vieux Four" in Gourdon/France for four years. No wonder, then, that a French joie de vivre can be felt here, which is rousingly authentic.
On the other hand, the French restaurant is such a wonderful place to enjoy, also due to the gourmet creations of Patrick Theumer. Theumer's gastronomic roots lie in Frankfurt, where he trained as a chef at the 5-star hotel "Arabella Grandhotel" in the Main Plaza after starting at the star restaurant "Brick". Before he moved to the family restaurant, he worked in various star hotels. The high quality standard, which the passionate gastronomer learned there, brought it naturally also also into the Fleur de Sel.
On the monthly changing menu, which is provided after the seasonal offer, versatile French courts, which let the water run together in the mouth already with the reading of the Zutaten. The guest is not beaten to death by a mass of choices, but is presented with a clearly arranged offer, which however, due to its versatility, offers the right dish for every taste. In addition to refined starters and soups, there are creative fish and meat dishes, as well as vegetarian delicacies. Desserts, where one sin only too gladly, may not be missing naturally just as little, as corresponding wines from France and Germany. And for the little guests there is of course a special menu with delicacies that make children's eyes shine.
This is quality that inspires. A restaurant that also sets high quality, but has not lost its family charm. In 2013 there was the Hessen Gastronomy Award, in 2017 the "Certificate for Excellence" from TripAdvisor and in 2018 the deserved victory in the Kabel Eins programme "Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal" followed with a fabulous 49 out of 50 points. If you also want to join this enthusiasm and treat yourself to a culinary short break, then you should definitely visit the Fleur de Sel restaurant.
For this, the numerous special events offered throughout the year in the restaurant agree very well. Highlights in 2019 include the Tasting menus "Summertime" (19 June 2019) and "Herbsterwachen" (02 October 2019). Early booking is recommended!
