Chocolate is not just chocolate. This may not be a completely new insight, but it is one that is recalled with great taste by a visit to the new Chocolaterie in Berliner Straße 22. No wonder, because here the delicious chocolate creations are not only made with the best ingredients, but also with a lot of love. Almost everything you can buy, taste and smell here is handmade. Only very few third-party products are included in the range. However, the fine delicacies do not come from Frankfurt, but from the Ruhr area.

Here POTT AU CHOCOLAT was founded by the architect Marie-Luise Langehenke and her husband, the patissier, cook and hotelier Manfred Glatzel, with the opening of the first branch in Dortmund. This was followed in 2011 by the opening of the glass production facility, in which a team of 12 produces pralines, chocolates, but also macarons, spreads and creamy ice cream every day.  And a part of this delicious production is now also coming to Frankfurt. POTT AU CHOCOLAT has over 140 varieties of chocolates in its repertoire alone, divided into summer, winter and year-round varieties.

In the salesroom of the Frankfurt branch, which is simply but attractively furnished, there are currently about 44 different types of chocolate to choose from, although this will be expanded in the winter months. Whether powerful with a nutty note, fruity filling, gently refined with lavender or somewhat exotic as a green tea variant, there is really the right praline for every taste. What they all have in common is the very filigree design, which shows that hand-picked ingredients and passion unite here in perfect harmony.

A real highlight in the Frankfurt branch are the local editions, which are perfect as small souvenirs or sweet gifts. The Rhine-Main cubes filled with a total of nine non-alcoholic pralines, depending on how they are laid, produce various Frankfurt motifs such as the Roman, the Iron Bridge, the Old Opera House, the Städel Museum, the Hauptwache or the skyline. These city motifs can also be found directly on the chocolates of the Rhein-Main-Edition, which are available in sets of 4, 6 or 9. The banderoles of some chocolate bars also show the beautiful Frankfurt pictures, which are to be extended in the future by further motifs from the region. A really beautiful idea that turns the praline into a real eye-catcher as a gift.

The POTT AU CHOCOLAT is also a real experience when it comes to the selection of chocolate bars: whether topped with nuts, roses, cocoa chips or red pepper, whether filled with marzipan or nougat or pure with different cocoa contents, whether sweet or bitter, these chocolates are a real treat. Of course, they are a little more expensive than a table in the supermarket, but quality has its price. And that's what you taste! No matter whether you are a chocolate connoisseur yourself or want to give someone a sweet treat, whether you simply want to drop by for a hot chocolate or a milkshake, the large selection, the appealing ambience and not least the extremely expert and very nice advice make a visit to this new chocolaterie a real experience for your taste buds. For us this is a very clear Frankfurt tip!
