Opening Hours: 3pm - 10pm
On the last two weekends in July, a very special exhibition awaits you at the Museumsufer. For this, the youngest shooting stars of the Berlin art scene - Marius Sperlich, Tony Futura and Joachim Bosse - come to the capital of money to discuss in a joint exhibition in a critically exaggerated, but above all in a humorous way exactly the one topic that mankind has always been able to agree on; the topic that brings us together but at the same time is the reason for the biggest conflicts all over the world: the dear MONEY.
A former bank building was chosen as a fitting location, two houses next to the Städelschule on the prestigious Schaumainkai in Frankfurt. Here, the new cultural label COPYSHOP presents a spectacular group exhibition by the C4 art collective. Known for their works commenting on consumption and society, the internationally published artists take a playfully light yet substantially poignant approach to the subject of money with their works on several hundred square meters.
What can you expect when you visit the exhibition MONEY? While in the exhibit, a Scrooge bird swollen with gold meets a crucified Mark Zuckerberg and a tuned turbo shopping cart, you walk through barbed wire with Europa Swimwear and highly polished for sale signs.
Parallel to this, COPYSHOP launders money in industrial washing machines and uses loose change to dye white denim the color of fast hope, bronze. With a bit of luck you will be secretly given some money in the exhibition, for which you can then drink to the well-being of capitalism in the integrated corner pub with Korn. All this, of course, after you've assigned yourself your own social status at the entrance.
So Copyshop is already showing at launch a deep rootedness in art, pop culture and fashion - and thus that it's not another fashion brand for the generation selfie, but an ugly beautiful mirror of our society.
The C4 Collective's stated goal for the show is "EVERYTHING MUST GO!!!" Because if you can't break free of the system - then please have enough currency to furnish your cage in 24 karat if possible. And where better to earn that than in the German capital of money?
