Even before the official opening ceremony of the meadow market, which begins on 22 July at 4 pm, there is a lot on offer in Erbach: As an innovation in the supporting program last year organized for the first time, this year again from 2 pm on the market square, a nearly two-hour concert will take place. Entertainment will be provided by the show and marching band "The Sound of Frankfurt" and the drum corps "Marching Devils Darmstadt".
Already last year, the musicians from Frankfurt thrilled the audience with their musical skills. The show and marching band "The Sound of Frankfurt" is known from the ZDF television garden and the ZDF Sunday concert, among other things; they are also the reigning German champion in the brass band class and convince with a selected repertoire of modern marching band music. Snappy drum rhythms and impressive choreographies are promised by the performance of the drum corps of the "Marching Devils".
During the concert, there will be a catered area on the market square with tables, benches and umbrellas where refreshing drinks will be available. The highlight: each drink comes with a voucher that automatically counts as a raffle ticket - to win one of the coveted gondolas for up to four people for this year's breakfast on the Ferris wheel on July 24.
The concert will be followed by the opening ceremony: This begins at 4 p.m.; the parade starts at 4.30 p.m.
The beer tapping will take place on Friday evening (22 July) - one day before the official opening on Saturday - from 8 p.m. as part of the "Erbacher Hüttengaudi" presented by Volksbank Odenwald in the "Wiesenalm" (opposite the Werner-Borchers-Halle). The musical entertainment will be provided by the mood band "Die Filsbacher".
Tickets for a seat in the beer garden including a glass of beer (0.5 liters) and a schnapps in the Wiesenmarkt-Krug or a soft drink (0.5 liters) are available for 5 euros at the Tourist Information in the Old Town Hall, phone (06062) 64 80.
