Star chefs and lingerie at the Bad Kissinger Genuss-Welten 2013

Bad Kissingen, 19. February 2013. This year's program of the event series "Bad Kissinger Genuss-Welten 2013" includes almost forty events around the topic of food and pleasure until December. From wine hikes to whiskey tastings to historical reviews of culinary history, there is something for every taste. The historic Kurgarten Cafe will even be the scene of a lingerie fashion show - so much skin has rarely been seen in the venerable walls.

Rhöner recipes: Simple, hearty, savoury

Take a historical-culinary foray through the Rhön region at the folklore museum Schloss Aschach near Bad Kissingen. After a tour of the exhibition "Living and farming in the Rhön from 1850 to 1950" in the baroque fruit store, typical dishes from the region await you. The price of 39 euros includes buffet, drinks, museum visit and guided tour. (Friday, April 12, 2013, 7 p.m. at Schloss Aschach)

 

Hermann Laudensack meets ... Patrick Spies

Hermann Laudensack's Parkhotel is one of the top addresses in Bad Kissingen with its star restaurant. On May 3, 2013, the hotelier will create a first-class menu together with the top chef Patrick Spies from the star restaurant L'Étable in Bad Hersfeld, Laudensack's sommelier Thomas Hüttl will comment on the five wines. The price of 130 euro includes the 5-course menu, aperitif, wines, mineral water and coffee. (Friday, May 3, 2013, 7 p.m. at Laudensack's Parkhotel)

 

Enjoyment Journey through the Saale Valley

Following last year's great success, the "Enjoyment Journey through the Saale Valley" will be continued: In one evening, guests will experience different restaurants along the Franconian Saale according to the motto "Five stops - five courses". The tour will start at the Dapper Residence in Bad Kissingen, with further stops at the Baldauf Winery, the Ullrich Hotel, the Bayerischer Hof Restaurant and Le Jeton. The price of 99 euro includes the menu, drinks and the bus transfer. (Saturday, May 4, 2013, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.)

 

Cocktails and Lingerie

A special treat for the eye awaits visitors to the Kurgarten Café in the historic Regentenbau on 10. May 2013: With a cocktail and tapas, the traditional Bad Kissingen fashion house Ludewig presents the latest lingerie, jazz sounds provide a relaxed bar atmosphere. Fashion show, cocktail and tapas are available for 38 euros. (Friday, May 10, 2013, 7 p.m. at the Kurgarten Cafe)

 

Wine Hike Unplugged

Sturdy shoes, shirt-sleeved and jeans - that's the dress code for the wine hike from the Ramsthal fairground near Bad Kissingen to the Baldauf winery. Wines, secco and hand food in the form of a 3-course menu as well as mineral water are included at a price of 65 euro. (Saturday, September 7, 2013, 3 p.m. from Festplatz Ramstahl)

 

Europe as a guest in Bad Kissingen

Truly royal guests will feel on September 21 in the White Hall of Bad Kissingen's Regentenbau: a 6-course menu compiled according to historical documents will transport gourmets to the 19th century, when the European high nobility crowned Bad Kissingen a world spa. Imperial and royal cookery books from Bavaria, Russia, Prussia, Italy, England and Austria provided the inspiration, the former royal court supplier Feinkost Faber takes care of the realisation. The perfect "triad" for the evening will be the music from the eras and a charming mixture of recitation and moderation. Menu and welcome champagne are available for 89 euros. Men Make History and Dishes

What do Prince Otto von Bismarck and the Earl of Sandwich have in common? Both were the godfathers of a dish with their names: the Bismarck herring and the sandwich are now firmly anchored in everyday language. Historian Dr. Andreas von Seggern will talk about the various dishes on the menus named after historical personalities - including women - while enjoying a 4-course menu in true style. Whisky-Tasting

Kersten Wetenkamp is editor of the renowned gourmet magazine "Der Feinschmecker" and whisky connoisseur. On November 10, the specialist will answer all questions about the "water of life" - the literal translation of the Scottish Gaelic "uisge beatha".
