At four entrance gates in
Hochheim, Kostheim, Wicker and Massenheim, hikers and cyclists can explore the wine and cultural landscape. On 35 panels, the often internationally award-winning winegrowers reveal a little of the secret of an outstanding wine.
The main trail of the Weinerlebnisweg Oberer Rheingau stretches for around 18 kilometres, but there are also smaller circular routes along the way.
Visitors learn in passing at forty stations about the geology and climate of the region, events that made history, the wine and its makers. A dog, which is depicted on many of the signs, accompanies children through the vineyards with games, riddles and tips.
Culinary delights await visitors in a fine selection of Strausswirtschaften.
