"Mainz lights - The Late Light Festival" is the new event highlight in Mainz.
From the 28th to the 30th of September 2023, the Mainz city center shines in an extraordinary splendor. A number of buildings, starting from the Rheingoldhalle to Schillerplatz, will be illuminated and staged in an artistic way. Various light installations and video projections, also known as "Mappings", will cast a completely new light on outstanding buildings such as St. Martin's Cathedral, the Rheingoldhalle, the Mainz State Theater, the mainz STORE on the Markt, the Deutsche Bank building in the former Karstadt area, and the Osteiner Hof on Schillerplatz. On the facades of these buildings, different stories are told in impressive visual representations, accompanied by emotional music. The video projections were conceived by the "Time-Based Media" course of study at Mainz University of Applied Sciences.
Visitors to "Mainz leuchtet - Das Late Light Festival" can also look forward to a diverse supporting program in the city center, designed by local businesses from the fields of gastronomy, commerce and culture. Admission to this new event highlight is free of charge, and the organizers, mainzplus CITYMARKETING and the state capital Mainz, invite numerous visitors to enjoy both the video projections and the offerings of the downtown players.
