UPDATE: Unfortunately, the Easter market also has to be cancelled due to the Corona epidemic!

It's that time again: with the meteorological start of spring, the anticipation for Easter is also rising! And what better way to increase this anticipation than with a visit to the popular Frankfurt Easter Market, which is already taking place for the 36th time this year. On Saturday, 14 March and Sunday, 15 March, numerous exhibitors will be offering colourful and creatively designed Easter eggs, Easter flower arrangements and other spring-like decorative items in the Dominican Monastery from 11 am to 6 pm. Colourful, creative, cheerful - that is the Easter market, which is organised voluntarily and for a good cause: The net proceeds are donated to the DMSG Hessen and benefit the counseling work of the MS self-help organization, which can celebrate its 40th anniversary this year.

"For me, the Easter market is a first messenger of spring: After the grey of winter, things are finally becoming more colourful and spring is moving in," says volunteer coordinator Ingrid Bauer full of anticipation for the "36th Frankfurt Easter Market", which she has been preparing for months with her co-organiser Käte Westphal and her team of volunteers. This year, Ingrid Bauer and her team have once again succeeded in attracting a diverse mix of exhibitors for the approximately 65 stalls. Especially lovers of traditional and fancy art on eggs in all variations will get their money's worth.

"It is close to my heart to show old handicraft traditions and techniques of egg decorating at the Easter market and thus contribute to their preservation," reports organizer Bauer. That's why visitors can not only buy handicrafts, but also experience their creation up close. Because at the Easter market, you can look over the artists' shoulders as they paint eggs and do other work. This also includes the world champion confectioner Bernd Siefert from Michelstadt in the Odenwald, who will again be represented with sweet temptations at the "Frankfurt Easter Market" in 2020. Watching him create sweet Easter gifts is really always a highlight.

In total, there is a rich offer of arts and crafts to discover at the many stalls in the Dominican Monastery: glass art, floristry, tiffany, lace making, turnery, ceramics, glass blowers, patchwork, tin figures, porcelain painting, stuffed animals, origami, cards, candles, embroidery and other handicrafts. "For the first time, the calligrapher, who has participated in the Fall Market for the past two years, will also be at the Easter Market," announces organizer Bauer. The selection is completed by homemade jams, pestos, chocolates, vinegars and oils.

And of course, the DMSG Hesse is also represented with an information booth: There, interested parties can find out about the close-knit counselling network, the annual programme and the many other offers such as the new "Functional Training for MS" or the online get-to-know-you platform "MS Connect". In addition, MS self-help groups take over the cashier service on the weekend and receive a part of the proceeds for their group fund.

So, get in the mood for spring and visit the 36th Frankfurt Easter Market!

Saturday, 14, and Sunday, 15. March 2020, both from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Dominikanerkloster, Kurt-Schumacher-Straße 23, 60311 Frankfurt.
