Not only MyZeil, but also all tenants on the 4th floor are happy about this news: The gastronomy and lifestyle location FOODTOPIA, which opened here less than 10 months ago, has welcomed its 5th millionth guest by Saturday, 08.02.2020. This is a more than respectable figure, which shows how attractive FOODTOPIA's offer is for customers and visitors. The MyZeil Shopping Center attracts around 50,000 people every day and every third visitor takes advantage of the new gastronomic options on the 4th floor in the middle of Frankfurt's city centre.
The conversion, with an investment volume of over 100 million <x>ampersand</x>euros;, began in 2017 and ended in 2019 with a total of 4 action-packed new openings. It kicked off on April 11, 2019 with the opening of 8 restaurants. Subsequently, the other restaurateurs followed and in October 2019, the premium cinema ASTOR could finally open with 5 cinemas. The FOODTOPIA project is unique in Germany. Never before has such an investment volume been made in a city centre during ongoing operations. Over 15 restaurants and Cafés were settled, not as usual in Germany with common seating (=Foodcourt), but with new service restaurants with a total of over 1,500 seats.
The new premium cinema - the ASTOR Film Lounge and the new event space make FOODTOPIA the model for a new generation of mall dining and lifestyle.
In addition to being open 365 days a year and easily accessible, the big advantage is the diverse selection of culinary offerings. Under the motto "the world as a guest", visitors are offered a wide variety, - from Asian cuisine, Indian and German cuisine, to American burgers and Hawaiian bowls. With all the food from faraway countries, of course, the German classic curry sausage with fries or a real Neapolitan pizza may not be missing.
The heart of the project is the FOODTOPIA event area in the middle of the floor. Here, promotions and events take place several times a week, from TV broadcasts, autograph sessions, press conferences and dance events to conferences and congresses. On the world's largest LED screen within a shopping center, among other things, sports events are broadcast live or puzzled together on Sundays at the crime scene.
Center Manager Marcus Schwartz is very pleased about the enormous success of his "baby": "We had exhausting construction work with massive restrictions, but it was more than worth it. Our guests are accepting the concept very well and I am proud that we can welcome more than 5 million guests on the 4th floor not even 1 year after the first opening. Decisive factors are certainly our great gastronomes, but also our varied event program."
The quality or success is not only evident in the guests who enthusiastically take advantage of the diverse offer. Also critics could be convinced. Thus, the gastro magazine FIZZZ has only recently chosen the restaurant Sander in the top 10 trend locations in Germany. Here, particularly innovative and future-oriented concepts were honoured. The sander restaurant received the coveted award with its unique roof terrace with skyline view and the interior as well as the cuisine. With the opening of FOODTOPIA and the final construction work on the ground floor, the shopping center is gearing up for competition in the new decade. The goal is to reach over 15 million visitors per year and continue the success story.
