For the 23rd time, the Frankfurt Children's Office is coordinating the campaign "Your Christmas present for Frankfurt children". This gives all Frankfurt residents the opportunity to use the campaign to give presents to children from socially disadvantaged families and grant them a wish. This year, the Children's Office aims to give presents to more than 5000 children.
"I am very pleased that the people of Frankfurt have been participating in this campaign for many years. In this way, they all take on social responsibility and ensure that children's eyes light up," says Sylvia Weber, Head of the Department for Integration and Education.
The wish lists have been on display in various shops and Volksbank branches in Frankfurt for three weeks since Monday, 26 November. Until December 17, anyone and everyone can take a wish card from the tree, fulfill the wish, and then drop off the gift either at the store or at the Frankfurt Children's Office. Many businesses are also participating by having employees fulfill the wishes.
The Trifels Verlag has been participating in the campaign for 11 years now. At the reception of the publishing house in Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel there is a Christmas tree on which the cards with wishes of the children hang.
Right before Christmas, all gifts are collected by the children's office, missing ones are bought in addition and distributed to the institutions shortly before Christmas. In this way, every child receives his or her personal Christmas present.
