Na, do you miss the cinema as much as I do? According to a survey by S&L Research 99% der Kinogänger an said they miss the cinema very much. When asked what they miss most about the cinema, cinema fans answered "the atmosphere / feeling" (40%), followed by "big screen / picture quality" (30%). Aber also lacks the community experience - not only the shared activity with family and friends (21%), sondern auch the shared "experience" of a cinema film with other viewers (8%)
Even though many in this survey stated that they felt that the cinema opening, which has now been permitted again, was too early, most of them were very happy. Also in our region, cinema fans can be happy: With the CinemaxX Offenbach, another movie theatre will open its doors again on 21.05.2020. Of course, the "new normality" will also be introduced here first. But under observance of the hygiene and protection measures, it will again be possible to enjoy films on the big screen. Admittedly, it still takes a while until really new films come into the cinema. But the waiting time for new blockbusters is shortened at CinemaxX with audience favourites that ran before the cinema was closed due to the Corona pandemic. The German comedy "Nightlife" is just as much a part of this as the animation flick "Onward: No Half Measures" or the Oscar-winning film "Parasite".
"We are extremely happy that we are allowed to open our cinema doors again. As a multiplex cinema, we have spacious foyers and halls, which are now equipped with guidance systems and distance markings. We are also technically well equipped with e-tickets and contactless payment methods at every box office. With our film programme we have put together a colourful selection that offers the right highlight for cinema fans young and old", explains theatre director Beatrice Hitschrich.
The world has changed - and so has CinemaxX Offenbach.
The core component of the reopening is a safety and hygiene concept that CinemaxX has developed together with its parent company Vue International, which complies with the official legal requirements and is in line with the protection and hygiene plan of the cinema associations.
Throughout the entire cinema and thus also when entering and leaving the cinema halls as well as during visits to the toilets during screenings, a mask (mouth and nose protection) is mandatory for cinema guests. As soon as the assigned seat is taken in the auditorium, the mask may be removed. Cinema staff work at ticket offices and counters behind hygienic walls or wear a mouth-and-nose protection.
Customers are requested to book tickets primarily online. A contactless ticket check is carried out upon entry. At all box offices - cinema box office and catering counters - payment can be made by card or contactless.
In the halls, the hall occupancy has been limited and seats are firmly allocated. Between the seats, which can be booked online as two blocks, corresponding seats are blocked for the required distance and remain free. Distance regulations are supported by a second offset film start and outlet.
Distance regulations in all communally used rooms and in the sanitary area are regulated by markings on the floor and barrier tapes. Of course, cinema guests and staff are made aware of the hygiene recommendations of the Federal Government with regard to the reduction of the risk of infection (hand hygiene, cough and sneeze label etc.) by means of notices and also informed and advised of the protection and hygiene concept via the website and social media.
