The pre-Christmas season is not only very contemplative. It is also the time of many charity events, some of which are really quite special. This was also the case on St. Nicholas Day, when the Kempinski Hotel invited children to bake cookies for a good cause. Eleven little bakers were eager to get down to business in the kitchen of the Levante restaurant, and in two hours they joined Pâtissier Melissa Rachow in filling around ten baking trays with cookies and vanilla crescents.
They were able to take some of the sweet delights home with them, and the rest will be sold at the Kempinski Christmas Market in the Schoppenhof on December 16. Part of the proceeds will go to the Kinderhilfestiftung Frankfurt e. V.
"Christmas and the smell of cookies simply belong together, and for children in particular, baking together is a highlight of the Christmas season," says hotel director Karina Ansos. "And when the whole thing takes place in a large hotel kitchen with professionals, it's twice as much fun. Plus, the kids are also doing good for other kids: by selling their cookies at our Christmas market, we're helping the Children's Aid Foundation carry out its projects for chronically ill, disabled or abused children."
If you'd like to nosh on those delicious cookies and do some good in the process, just come to the Christmas Market on December 16. You can find info HERE
