It's official: The Christmas season is open. Not because, after gingerbread and speculoos, the shops now also have the first chocolate Santas and festive decorations. And not just because the Frankfurt Christmas tree has arrived at the Römer. No, there is another good reason to get into the festive mood from now on: The CityXmas! Two years ago, Frankfurt's earliest and highest Christmas market took place for the first time on the roof of the Konstabler car park. The debut was immediately enormously successful and was very well received by visitors.
There was a continuation of course quickly decided thing. Since 01 November, this beautiful hut magic now goes into the third round and invites you to relax and enjoy - the perfect location for pre-Christmas after work and weekend getaways. The twelve huts, in combination with the CityAlm, spread an almost rural charm that stands in stark contrast to the skyline in the background. But that's exactly why the concept works so well. The atmosphere here is convivial and almost family-like. This is also evidenced by the fact that almost all of the stall operators were already here last year. There are only two newcomers to report this season: One stall, which offers incredibly delicious Belgian waffles in savoury - for example with salmon or mozzarella - or in sweet versions, for example with cherries or - THE highlight for children - with Smarties. And another hut, where visitors are served Langosch.
In addition, there is the very tasty Pulled Pork Burger from Big Al`s Smoke Truck, which literally melts in your mouth and pleasantly tickles the taste buds. But also the spicy fire sausage from the grill hut, crispy thin tarte flambée, hearty soups, fries with jalapeños, burgers or sweet Crêpes satisfy every hunger here. Of course, mulled wine, hot Äppler, all varieties of shot upgrades, children's punch and other hot or cold drinks may not be missing.
In the wonderful glow of lights, the CityXmas Christmas market is an almost magical place that radiates a cozy comfort even in not so nice weather and low temperatures. You can reach the market via the Konstablerwache car park entrance at Carl-Theodor-Reiffenstein-Platz. Take the elevator or your car to parking level 5. From there, the large staircase will take you up to the CityAlm. The CityAlm is located on the roof of the parking garage until March 2020. In the wintry alpine hut, rustic fare is served, from Alm-Öhis cheese spaetzle to the Alm burger to grilled chicken or grandfather's bread salad. In addition, there is freshly tapped beer on tap and from Thursday to Saturday, the big Hüttengaudi is celebrated from 10 pm. More info on this rooftop location can be found HERE
