Dippemess-Park - The first major folk festival in Frankfurt since 2019

Rising infection figures and yet a boisterous folk festival atmosphere on Ratsweg? That should be possible thanks to a strict hygiene concept at Dippemess Park. Frankfurt's Volksfest classic will bring a major festival back to the Main metropolis from 03 September as a temporary leisure park for the first time since the Christmas market in 2019. Before the start, Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann informed himself during a press tour of the festival site on Ratsweg about the concept and the offer, through which real funfair feeling is to be spread again from 3 to 19 September. The head of the city was accompanied by Thomas Feda, managing director of Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main, Kurt Stroscher, head of the amusement park, and Thomas Roie, chairman of the Frankfurt Showmen's Association.

Feldmann expressed his delight at the return of the Dippemess and said after the tour: "Frankfurt is celebrating. Celebrate with us - at our Dippemess. A spin on the Ferris wheel or the wave ride, the smell of roasted almonds, that's what not only our children have missed. Look, marvel, take off: I'm looking forward to it. Especially as this Dippemess Park will be a Dippemess XXL, with an extra week, 15 great days long."

The Lord Mayor's most important message: "The safety of visitors is the very first priority at the Dippemess Park."

So there is access only with negative proof (vaccinated, tested or recovered), the number of visitors is limited to 5000. However, registration is not required. A one-way system is designed to minimise contacts, and contact details will be compulsory in the catering areas.

And: there will be both a testing centre on site - and the opportunity to get vaccinated by a team from the German Red Cross (Tuesday to Saturday from 3pm to 6pm, Sunday from 12pm to 6pm).

On the grounds, you can expect rides like a Ferris wheel, the "Alpen-Coaster" roller coaster, a break dancer, bumper cars, a ghost train and much more. Also eight children's rides, shooting galleries and over 30 gastronomic offers as well as seven sales booths invite you to enjoy and linger.
