Eissporthalle Frankfurt opens with online ticket system for preseason

Eissporthalle Frankfurt opens with online ticket system for preseason

The Eissporthalle Frankfurt, which will celebrate its 40th birthday next year, will finally open its doors to the public again from Monday, September 21. With more than 9000 square meters, the ice sports hall on Bornheimer Hang has the largest contiguous skating surface nationwide. These are divided between the large and small skating rinks, the outer ring and the covered outdoor ice rink. It is precisely this size that makes it possible for the rink to be open for training and public skating at the same time, even under pandemic conditions. Since Monday, September 7, it has already been opened for the training operations of Frankfurt's ice sports clubs. So now all amateur skaters can again flit with the blades over the ice.

However, there are of course also restrictions here, because the requirements to combat the Corona pandemic make it necessary that the flow of visitors is regulated. For this reason, access to the rink for individual athletes outside of regular training operations is only possible via an online ticket system. Since Wednesday, September 16, it has been possible to purchase online tickets via the Eissporthalle Frankfurt website at http://www.eissporthalle-ffm.de to purchase.

Tickets will be available during the preseason for run times of 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Admission to the rink will be available until 45 minutes prior to the end of each run time. Important: This online ticket regulation also applies to holders of already purchased eleven tickets, school classes and people who enjoy free admission to the ice sports hall.

The tickets must then be printed out or saved on the smartphone so that the QR codes contained on them can be scanned at the entrance. This avoids unnecessary queues. For club athletes coming to their training times, a separate fast-track entrance has been set up in the entrance area, which is specially marked.

Distance rules must be observed when entering the ice rink and on the entire grounds; floor markings should make it easier to follow. In addition, wearing mouth-to-nose protection is required everywhere in the building except on the ice surface (masks are mandatory).

"Last year's record numbers of more than 600,000 visitors demonstrate the great, unwavering appeal of the ice rink. I am very happy that we have succeeded in this special year to make the public run and the training operation for the Frankfurt ice sports clubs possible," says sports department head Markus Frank.

During the run times, the catering, the skate rental and the hockey shop Forster are open in compliance with hygiene regulations. In the preseason, the large hall or the small hall with ice skating surface will be available. Based on preseason experience and current legislation, the current plan is to make a large ice surface, either the large rink or the covered outdoor ice surface accessible beginning with the off-season, which begins Saturday, Oct. 3.

The hygiene and conduct rules for visiting the rink can be found on the website http://www.eissporthalle-ffm.de; there is also a link to the online ticket system. Further information will be posted there on a daily basis until further notice. So: Strap on your skates and get on the ice!
