(ffm) The time is ripe again - for lovingly designed bags, creative upcycling ideas, high-quality photographs, handmade jewellery or designer furniture. More than 50 creative people from the regional art and design scene make Höchst the most beautiful excursion destination in Frankfurt on the first Advent weekend.
lucky mushrooms also have the chance to win a shopping voucher worth 50 euros, including many gift ideas for Christmas. All you need to do is collect stamps at the individual locations while browsing and marvelling and the participants end up in the Lostopf!
What was once an experiment with the aim of drawing attention to empty shops and their potential through creative interim uses is now an established and popular series of events. In the meantime, the 13th Highest Design Course has been extended to very different spaces in the Höchster Innen- und Altstadt. The Café Mouseclick, the Verein Arbeits- und Erziehungshilfe and the Bürgervereinigung Höchster Altstadt - to name but a few - are once again being transformed into exhibition spaces of a special kind.
At the same time, the number of creative people who have settled in Höchst is increasing, enriching the regional art and design scene as well as the Höchster Design Course. This consists of a total of seven rooms for temporary use and eleven studios, workshops or local creative shops. The two labels Miss Tula Trash and Death at Dress, formerly also intermediate users at the design course, even invite eleven more labels to join them at Bolongarostraße 133. And Kranengasse 2 also has other surprises in store in addition to the new work by FORMWERKE.
Finally, the former tobacco factory of the Bolongaro family opens its doors again at Bolongarostrasse 113. Although the building is still under reconstruction, it offers a unique setting for history fans, exhibitors and visitors alike.
The MUSA Children's Studio in Emmerich-Josef-Straße 33 is also looking forward to active support this weekend when it invites you to “Creative Workshop - Painting with Children“. And those who want to throw themselves completely into the art frenzy can do so at the “11th Petersburger Hängung“ in the premises of Westkunst Nied, Bolongarostraße 112. In addition to live music and mulled wine, a group exhibition including raffles awaits visitors.
The Design Parcours is open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, 1 December, and from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. At the same time, the Höchster Christmas Market will take place on Schlossplatz (Saturday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.).
The Höchster Design Parcours has been sponsored and organized for six years by the City Planning Office of Frankfurt am Main, Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt GmbH, NH ProjektStadt and RADAR, the vacancy agency of the City of Frankfurt, as part of the "Innenstadt Höchst" promotional program. The funding programme was recently extended by a further five years.
