Germany's largest owner-operated book retailer Hugendubel is opening a new branch in downtown Frankfurt today, Friday, June 16, 2017. The 150 sqm branch is located on the ground floor of the MyZeil shopping center and is thus directly accessible from the highly frequented and popular pedestrian street Zeil. With a plain wooden look, Hugendubel will focus more on frontal presentation and top sellers here, similar to its shop-in-shops.
In addition to the large Leuchtturm branch on Steinweg, the shop-in-shop at Karstadt and the branch in the Hessen-Center, Hugendubel thus has four points of contact in Frankfurt. As part of the ongoing adaptation to the new branch concept, which focuses on the best selection and the best advice in a pleasant reading atmosphere with a smaller area, the Hugendubel branch in the Hessen-Center moved from the ground floor to the basement last week.
With over 100 branches throughout Germany, Hugendubel.de, eBook.de and Hugendubel Fachinformationen, Hugendubel is the largest owner-managed bookselling company in Germany. As a family-owned company in its 5th generation, Hugendubel is clearly committed to books and is a strong advocate of the dovetailing of online, digital and branch business in the book trade. Thus, Hugendubel is co-initiator and co-founder of the successful eReader tolino. Founded in Munich in 1893, Hugendubel now employs 1700 people across Germany.
