Frankfurt - running together´s
(kus) From October 29 to November 12, the Frankfurt Intercultural Weeks 2016 will take place. This year's motto "Frankfurt - together runs`s" illustrates the strength of Frankfurt's urban culture to develop a modern urban society from the diversity of cultures.
"With the Frankfurt Intercultural Weeks, we are showing that our city has long since turned towards the world, and interculturality has become part of everyday life. Frankfurt is dynamic and draws its attractiveness above all from its international and solidary togetherness. This is underlined by this year's motto 'together runs´s'," says the head of the department for integration and education, Sylvia Weber.
In addition to the Office for Multicultural Affairs (AmkA) and the Municipal Foreigners' Representative Council (KAV), various social and church organizations are also part of the initiative group that organizes the Intercultural Weeks.
A visit to a Sikh temple or a mosque, guided tours of Goethe's city, discussions and break-dancing competitions - the many different events make it clear that Frankfurt is not only colourful and diverse, but also a successful example of an understanding coexistence of different opinions, influences and cultures. Around 80 programme points on the topics of society, work, politics and religion throughout the city await visitors.
The complete program is available as a brochure now free of charge in the central library of the municipal library and in the district libraries as well as in the adult education center. In addition, it is also available in many educational institutions or can be picked up at the AmkA.
