Bicycling is good - for health and for the environment. The fact that more and more people are opting for the bike and not the car is absolutely positive. But in order to drive this development even further forward, a rapid expansion of the bicycle infrastructure in and around Frankfurt is required. The Main metropolis is already doing a lot here: cycle path signage, bicycle parking facilities and cycle path construction are areas in which the city of Frankfurt am Main is increasingly investing. A further facet of the infrastructure are the repair stations, which are already located in some parts of the city. Now three more repair stations have been installed by the responsible office for road construction and development (ASE).
"From now on cyclists will find tools and an air pump on Arthur-Stern-Platz in Rödelheim, at the Riedberg grammar school and at the terminus of the underground in Bergen-Enkheim", Michaela Kraft, head of ASE, is pleased to report. In addition, the station at the main guard was replaced. The practical helpers cost about 1000 Euro depending on the equipment. You will find screwdrivers, wrenches and air pumps, among other things.
Good steps in the right direction. More of these please!
