Oh, Christmas tree: This is how the Christmas tree disposal 2020

Every year we enjoy it again when the lights on the Christmas tree burn and create a festive atmosphere. But this is over at the latest when there are more needles around than can be found on the tree. Then it's again: Where to with the old Christmas tree? Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH (FES) is once again offering Frankfurt-based companies two disposal options this year.

Variant 1: The Christmas tree is disposed of as before during the month of January either in the brown organic waste bin, the grey residual waste bin or during the statutory street cleaning. The condition is that the trees are freed of all ornaments and cut to pieces of a maximum of one meter.

Variant 2: The collection tour offered for the fourth time and now well established with fixed dates for the individual districts: From Wednesday, 8 January to Tuesday January 28th, a special vehicle will be used to collect only Christmas trees. Citizens simply place the trees at the site boundary - easily accessible and clearly visible - for the pick-up day. Also here the trees should be decorated. If they are longer than two metres, FES also asks for comminution here.

The dates are:

08.01. in Bergen-Enkheim, Fechenheim and Riederwald

09.01., in Seckbach and Bornheim

10.01., in Oberrad and Ostend

13.01., in Niederrad and Sachsenhausen-North

14.01., in Sachsenhausen-South, Schwanheim (inklusive Goldstein)

15.01., Gallusviertel, Gutleutviertel, Griesheim

16.01., Bockenheim and Westend

17.01., Nordend

20.01., Berkersheim, Preungesheim, Eckenheim, Dornbusch (inklusive Frankfurter Bogen)

21,01, Nieder-Erlenbach, Nieder-Eschbach, Harheim, Bonames, Frankfurter Berg (inklusive Ben-Gurion-Ring)

22.01., Kalbach-Riedberg, Niederursel, Eschersheim, Mertonviertel

23.01., Heddernheim, Ginnheim, Hausen

24.01., Praunheim and Rödelheim

27.01., Sossenheim, Nied, Höchst (inklusive Henri-Dunant-Siedlung)

28,01., Unterliederbach, Zeilsheim, Sindlingen, Flughafen

The border between Sachsenhausen south and north runs along the Offenbacher and Mörfelder roads. Mörfelder Landstraße: even house numbers belong to Sachsenhausen-Nord, odd house numbers to Sachsenhausen-Süd. Offenbacher Landstraße: even house numbers to Sachsenhausen-Süd, odd house numbers to Sachsenhausen-Nord.

Olternatively, Christmas trees can of course also be delivered free of charge to RMB Rhein-Main Biokompost GmbH in Osthafen or as part of the trunk service at the FES recycling centres.
