The Hessen-Center celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the first construction phase of the new multi-storey car park last week: the topping-out ceremony wreath was attached to the site crane, visible from afar. The last ceiling panels of the upper parking deck are mounted. This means that construction management, center management, tenants in the center and visitors can all look forward to the progress of the construction work, as the first 1,000 parking spaces will soon be available.
New parking deck with direct access to the center
The new multi-storey car park offers a range of additional services and modern comforts, including numerous parking spaces with special comfort features, specially reserved spaces for women, families with children, customers with disabilities, numerous widened parking spaces with a minimum width of 2.75 metres, covered bicycle parking spaces and new stations for electric vehicles. In addition, an individual parking space display will be installed, showing free parking spaces at a glance.
Olaf M. Kindt, Center Manager Hessen-Center Frankfurt: "We are pleased and grateful that our visitors are accompanying the building with a lot of interest, but also patience and understanding. In March of this year I promised that we would be rewarded with the most modern multi-storey car park in eastern Frankfurt before Christmas. I will be able to keep my promise according to the current state of affairs, the parking decks will be opened before Nikolaus on 6 December".
Alexander Kemling, project manager of the construction company Max Bögl, expresses his satisfaction with the topping-out ceremony of the 1st construction phase. "The works have been completed on schedule. All builders and suppliers have set their sights on meeting the deadline for completion. We builders work hand in hand with the center management to keep the disruption to the ongoing center operation and the visitors as low as possible. It goes on’s - because we still have a lot of work to do with the electrical work and the implementation of signage and road marking until the end of November."
Investment in attractive, contemporary overall appearance of the Hessen-Center Frankfurt
>Total over 45 million € will be invested in the redesign of the Hessen-Center Frankfurt. The center will be extensively modernized, redesigned and significantly upgraded for customers and tenants. In autumn 2020, visitors to eastern Frankfurt will be offered even more with more than 1,400 new parking spaces, additional services and improved facilities.
"Our goal is to significantly increase the quality of the shopping center in eastern Frankfurt, which has been popular for decades," continued Olaf M. Kindt. "With a contemporary look, modern services and an attractive atmosphere, we want to inspire our many regular customers and also win new customers".
In the course of the new multi-storey car park construction, the public image of the Hessen-Center will also be significantly improved. With an attractive anthracite-coloured façade, new green strips and modern lighting, the integration in the district is emphasised and the centre is visually brought closer to the Borsigallee.
Also work continues inside the centre. The modernization and beautification of the mall is progressing. The tenant mix will also be supplemented by new concepts and upgraded with additional attractive tenants. Among other things, the more than 5,000 m² large food area was recently leased to EDEKA. The opening of the food market is planned for summer 2020.
