Three more museums have announced their reopening schedule: The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt will be open for visitors again on May 6, 2020, followed by the StÃ¤del Museum and the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung on May 9, 2020. The good news for all art lovers: all special exhibitions at the museums will be extended. The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt presents the exhibitions "Fantastic Women. Surreal Worlds from Meret Oppenheim to Frida Kahlo" and "Richard Jackson. Unexpected Unexplained Unaccepted" now both until July 5. In addition to the collection presentation at the StÃ¤del Museum, the special exhibition "EN PASSANT. Impressionism in Sculpture" , which will be extended until 25 October. The planned exhibition of the Prints and Drawings Department "StÃ¤del's Legacy. Master Drawings from the Founder's Collection" will open on 13 May. From 19 May, the newly presented permanent exhibition of the Contemporary Art Collection "BACK TO THE PRESENT. NEW PERSPECTIVES, NEW WORKS - THE COLLECTION FROM 1945 TO TODAY" will be open to the public.
In the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung, the collection presentation with "White Wedding. The Reiner Winkler Ivory Collection Now at the Liebieghaus. Forever" and the special exhibition "COLORFUL GODS - GOLDEN EDITION. The Colours of Antiquity" are open again. The special exhibition will be extended until January 17, 2021.
Philipp Demandt, Director of the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, the StÃ¤del Museum and the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung on the reopenings of the houses: "The fact that we have succeeded in convincing our lenders in the most important international museums to substantially extend our special exhibitions in many personal talks over the past weeks is a special sign of solidarity and proof of the outstanding reputation of our houses. For this unique opportunity to show masterpieces by Frida Kahlo, Edgar Degas, Auguste Rodin and John Singer Sargent to our audiences now months longer than planned, I thank my colleagues worldwide from the bottom of my heart and wish our visitors much pleasure."
In order for the three houses to be allowed to resume operations, comprehensive hygiene and protective measures against the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) must be implemented. These are as follows:
HYGIENE PLAN AND PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
The precautionary measures for infection control include. a visitor restriction and better regulation of visitors through online available time slot tickets, optimized visitor management in the houses and increased cleaning of neuralgic points. Visitors are made aware of the hygiene regulations on site. It is important to observe the distance rule of at least 1.5 metres and the sneezing and coughing etiquette in the houses, and to wear mouth and nose protection. This can be brought in or purchased at the ticket booths.
OPENING HOURS AND TIME FRAME TICKETS AT THE ONLINESHOP
The Schirn's opening hours will be extended to include Mondays, starting on May 11. The MINISCHIRN will remain closed for the time being. Regular opening hours apply to the StÃ¤del and Liebieghaus.
Excepted from the opening are the library& Mediathek in the StÃ¤del Museum and the Cafés of the museums. The Schirn Café offers food and drinks to go.
