Sleeves up - From Wednesday vaccinations without appointment in the Frankfurt vaccination center

26.07.2021 | 20:25 Clock | Service

Finally there is enough vaccine. To get it to the people, since the vaccination campaign has stalled a bit right now, there needs to be more attractive and easier offers to really reach everyone willing to get vaccinated. One such opportunity will be available starting Wednesday, July 28. From that date onwards, initial vaccinations will be available at the Frankfurt Vaccination Centre without the need for a prior appointment. People from 16 years can be vaccinated against the coronavirus in each case in the time from 9 to 18 o'clock.

Mayor Peter Feldmann says about the abolition of the registration requirement: "Now there are no more excuses! Protecting yourself and others has never been so easy. I ask you: If you have not yet been vaccinated, do it now. Every vaccination helps to slow down the virus. Every vaccination is a step out of the pandemic, back into normal life. For each individual personally, too. Because the vaccination has advantages. Vaccinated people are allowed to attend small and medium-sized events even when the maximum number of participants has already been reached. So: sleeves up - against Corona, for Frankfurt!"

The vaccinations are carried out with an mRNA vaccine, there is no choice between the vaccines. The choice is based on the availability of sera. In addition, vaccination with Johnson & Johnson vaccine (COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen) is available, requiring only one vaccination. Bring an official identification document, vaccination card and - if available - health insurance card.

"There is finally enough vaccine available for everyone. Now it's a matter of stepping up the game on vaccination and making it as easy as possible to get vaccinated," said Health Commissioner Stefan Majer. "To prevent a next wave of further restrictions, we absolutely need a higher vaccination rate. For all those who want to enjoy relaxations and freedoms, there is only one thing: vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate!"

The Vaccination Center advises that there may be longer waiting times. Therefore, it is possible that you will be asked to come back at a later time if a long queue has already formed.

Access to the Immunization Center is via Entrance South only, across from Skyline Plaza. It is recommended to arrive by public transport or to use the surrounding parking garages.
