(ffm) Both on the underground line U4 and on the line U5 there will be work to be done next weekend leading to interruptions of both lines. Some of this work takes place in parallel: From Friday, 12 April, around 6 p.m., until Monday, 15 April, around 3 a.m., track construction work on Eckenheimer Landstrasse will interrupt the U5 line, where buses will be used as rail replacement services (SEV). Since the crossing area Adickesallee/Nibelungenallee is closed because of the work of the work, also three bus lines must be diverted. From Saturday, 13 April, around 4 a.m., to Thursday, 18 April 2019, around 3 a.m., the lighting in the U4 line tunnel will be renewed - the work will take place in two phases.
Line U5: Due to track construction only north of the Alleenring
From Friday, 12. April, about 18 o'clock, until Monday, 15 April, about 3 o'clock, the line U5 does not operate between main station and main cemetery. An SEV is set up between Konstablerwache and Marbachweg/Sozialzentrum. The replacement stops are located in the immediate vicinity of the original stops, the buses depart from the Konstablerwache in front of the C&A department store.
Zwischen Konstablerwache und Hauptbahnhof (between the Konstablerwache and the main railway station) on Friday evening, in addition to suburban trains and trams, the U4 underground line can also be used as a replacement. With the start of work on the tunnel lighting on Saturday 13 April at around 4 a.m., however, the U4 line will no longer operate on this section.
Line U4: Tunnel lighting replacement will be continued
The tunnel lighting work started on the first weekend in April will be continued. From Saturday, 13 April, around 4 a.m., to Monday, 15 April, around 3 a.m., the U4 line will therefore only run between the main station and Bockenheimer Warte and between Konstablerwache and Seckbacher Landstraße. On the latter section, a shuttle train is in use, which departs in both directions on the track towards Konstablerwache.
Zwischen Innenstadt und Hauptbahnhof (between the city centre and the main station), the S-Bahn (suburban trains) and the tram line 12, which is more frequently used during the day on Saturdays, offer alternative travel options from Konstablerwache. Lines 11 and 14 are also available from Börneplatz. Enkheim can still be reached by subway U7. The U7 line will also serve as a replacement in the second construction phase from Monday, 15 April, around 3 a.m., to Thursday, 18 April, around 3 a.m., and will then run with additional wagons. During this period, the U4 line only runs between Seckbacher Landstraße and Konstablerwache. There is still a shuttle train on the way. Between Konstablerwache and Bockenheimer Warte, the U5 line can be used, which will be extended beyond the main station to Bockenheimer Warte.
bus lines are redirected
During the track works on the U5, the bus line 32 as well as the night bus lines n4 and n41 may be redirected from Friday, 12th to Sunday.
