Wine on the Rhine and Main - New book presented

A wine book, a travel guide? Both! The new publication about the culinary side of the FrankfurtRhineMain region offers versatility

(ffm) "The book inspires and is optimal travel companion for all wine lovers visiting Frankfurt and the region", summarizes Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann the new wine guide for the metropolitan region. In his publication, author Patrick Hemminger combines interesting facts about wine growing around Frankfurt with versatile suggestions for activities, tips for excursions, and suggestions for places to stop. The former foreign correspondent of the Middle East has meanwhile become an author for various gourmet magazines and has put his focus on wine growing all over the world. Now he has visited multifaceted wine-growing regions in the middle of Germany, within a one-hour drive of Frankfurt, which are presented in a varied way in this book for those interested and insiders. "Short ways to good drops, is the subtitle of the book, which is both wine book and travel guide. The Rheingau, the Hessische Bergstrasse and Rheinhessen are presented as well as the Nahe and Churfranken," Feldmann reports.

The new publication was initiated by the Arbeitskreis Tourismus FrankfurtRheinMain (FrankfurtRhineMain Tourism Working Group), which is why the focus was deliberately placed on the easy accessibility of the destinations presented, thus offering every traveler, as well as locals, a practical guide to places worth seeing, places worth experiencing and delicious places. "The work is the perfect complement to our publication ‚Best of Apfelwein' and, after the RheinMainCard, further proof of the good cooperation in the region and the deep-rooted, unfortunately often hidden, culinary commonalities," explains Thomas Feda, managing director of the Arbeitskreis Tourismus FrankfurtRheinMain.

"Wine on the Main and Rhine" was launched by Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann, Thomas Feda and René Heinen, publishing director Societätsverlag, on Wednesday, 11. September, at the restaurant Weinsinn presented to the public and is now available in stores.
