145 years of Binding - We say thank you! - Under this motto the grounds of the Binding Brewery in Sachsenhausen turned into a big festival area on August 1st. For 15 hours we celebrated here in bright sunshine and up to 30 degrees extensively. The reason why August 1 of all days was chosen for the festival is quite simple: on August 1, 1870, Conrad Binding laid the foundation stone for today's Binding Brewery with the opening of his brewery in the heart of Frankfurt. This date will be 145 years old in 2015.
On Saturday, the traditional brewery at Sachsenhäuser Berg opened its doors to toast the anniversary with the Binding friends of the region. Thousands of visitors were offered an attractive family programme with beer tapping by Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann, brewery tours and beer tastings, live music on the binding stage and at the after-show party. Regional specialities and of course binding beer will be served with it.
From 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 a.m. various acts provided for a varied show. With artists such as the <link https: www.facebook.com pages rodgau-monotones>Rodgau Monotones, the <link https: www.facebook.com urbanclubband>Urban Club Band, Bäppi la Belle, Mario Steffen, Die Frankfurter Klasse, Gernot Dechert, the enchanting singer/songwriter Fee or Dennis & Julian Smith, the party lasted from early in the morning until late at night. True to the motto "A Frankfurt original must also celebrate with Frankfurt originals", the selection for the attractive and varied stage programme placed great value on the shelf reference. The stage program was moderated by FFH presenters Felix Moese and Evren Gezer. There was really something for every taste: While Bäppi La Belle was allowed to sing Schlager together with Mario Steffen at his first performance, he played Hessian songs at his solo performance in the early evening. The Rodgau Monotones not only presented songs from their brand new CD, which will be released in September, but also rocked the Binding stage with their classics. And the duo of the Frankfurt class offered two sets, in which they provided Mario and Speedy as "Büdchensteher" and later as Lutz and Rainer for good mood. And also for the small visitors was provided: The team of the adventure playground Riederwald e.V. put together a fine family program especially for the Brauereihoffest.
It was an all around successful celebration, from which we also recorded some impressions:
