BABYWELT Fair in Frankfurt

Infos, program and tips

For couples, there is hardly a more exciting time than the birth of a child. Especially those who become moms or dads for the first time often ask themselves: am I up to the new challenges? What do I have to think about? What all do I need to buy to make the home safe or to transport my child safely? In short, how do I ensure that I raise my child in the best possible way? Many of these questions answer themselves in everyday life. Our parental instinct simply takes care of that. But for other questions, you simply need help. And such help is provided by the large BABYWELT trade fair, which will be hosted by Messe Frankfurt in Hall 5 from 23 to 25 February.

The exhibitors

Whether it's the right baby seat, clothes, the first toothbrush, the perfect stroller, pacifiers, bottles, cuddly toys, wooden toys - as a new parent, you can actually find something you need for your offspring all the time and everywhere. But what is really necessary? And what meets the high quality standards you set for your own child? A visit to the trade fair is really helpful here. Because on 6,500 square metres you will find around 115 manufacturers, retailers and service providers presenting their products from the areas of mobility, furniture, toys, health, care, nutrition, child safety, fitness and fashion.

In a direct exchange with the suppliers, you can choose the right one for your child.

Of course, in principle, you can also find the offer in specialty stores and online shops. But what makes a visit to the BABYWELT fair so worthwhile is that, in addition to the competent expert advice, you also have many direct comparison opportunities between different manufacturers. In addition - and this is enormously important given the costs that such a small creature entails - it is possible to make purchases here directly at trade fair prices. And that's where you can definitely save a euro or two.

One innovation in the third year is an area that focuses on sustainability, regionality and individuality. The new area Lieblingsstücke offers small, fine things at four stands that come from the heart, are lovingly crafted and are also suitable for giving as gifts. There are beautiful accessories for mother and child from Jolly Designs, wooden pull-along animals, rocking animals and baby walkers from tede family, sustainable products from KUNIPATZ and personalised collections for mum and baby from My Mom Design.

The Show Stage

In addition to the numerous exhibitor stands, the fair also offers an extensive supporting programme. On the show stage, for example, children's songwriter BASTI will ensure a good mood. A children's magic show will make the little fair visitors' eyes light up. Fathers can demonstrate their skills in the big diaper-changing competition. And there's also a crawling competition for the little ones and the Hape baby walker race for the slightly older ones. This is always great fun! There are also great prizes to be won!

Workshops

Parents will find practical help in the numerous workshops offered on all three days of the fair. A wide range of topics will be offered. How do I find the right sleeping bag for my baby? What do I need to know about parental benefit, child benefit and maternity benefit? How do I help my baby learn language? How do I bathe my baby properly? These topics, as well as tips on breastfeeding, potty training, or car safety, are just a few of the great offerings from which you can choose the workshop that's right for you, depending on your needs.

The fair visit for young parents

Of course, the fair visit is not only interesting for parents-to-be, but also for those who already share their lives with their offspring. In order to make the trade fair visit as pleasant as possible for parents with children, there are some very special offers. For example, there is a separate nursing lounge (only for nursing mothers or mothers of bottle-fed babies), where the little ones can be nursed in a completely relaxed manner. The nappy-changing oasis also offers a break from the hustle and bustle of the fair. For somewhat older children there is the feeding bar with organic baby food from the manufacturer Holle. And if the kids get bored, they can play, paint or do handicrafts on the colourful play area, professionally supervised by the Family Club.

To avoid losing track of the large range of products on offer, it is worth considering what exactly you are looking for and what you would like to find out about before visiting the trade fair. To help with this, there is an initial equipment checklist, which you can download HERE.

Many of the larger stalls offer EC payment, but you'd better plan on having enough cash for purchases at the smaller stalls.

Of course, there will still be a few questions left unanswered and a few uncertainties left after visiting the fair. That's normal, and let's face it - that's probably not going to change until the kids leave home at some point. But for young families, the BABYWELT fair is a helpful way to make this new, exciting stage of life a little easier and more secure.
