Buchhandlungen in Frankfurt & Rhein-Main - Top-Tipps

Bookstore Erhardt & Kotitschke
Bookstore Reading Cafe
Land in Sicht
Tatzelwurm
The Spiral Staircase
Ypsilon Bookstore & Café

Bookstore Erhardt & Kotitschke

The mail-order bookshop, located in Niederrad, added a retail store in Schwarzwaldstraße in 2012, which is run with a lot of love for the printed word. Here you will not only find numerous novels, non-fiction, crime novels, children's books, cards and nice little gifts for young and old. The bookstore also convinces with good advice and assistance in finding out-of-print books.

Bookstore Reading Cafe

Do you know the Marthaler novels by Jan Seghers? Then you probably also know this beautiful bookstore, which is somewhat hidden in a backyard in sachsenhausen. Here the commissioner in the books stopped by from time to time - and we can recommend that to you, too. Here you can browse for works of contemporary literature, biographies, currently relevant non-fiction books on politics and history as well as books for children and young people. And after the successful book purchase you can browse in the Café immediately in the newly acquired work. Reading becomes a pleasure!

Land in Sicht

A real institution is the bookstore Land in Sicht, which has been attracting literature fans not only from the Nordend but from all over Frankfurt since it opened in 1978. Here, interested people have always found special literature, gladly beyond the mainstream. In addition to works of world literature and books by German writers, poetry also plays a major role here to this day. In addition, exciting and rousing events such as readings, lectures and discussions take place in the rooms again and again.

Tatzelwurm

For generations, there has been an absolute favourite place for children and families in the Nordend: the beautiful bookshop Tatzelwurm. In addition to around 2000 children's and youth book titles, you will also find numerous audio books and music for children, selected toddler toys and stuffed animals as well as board games and game collections. If you can't find a book here, you can order it at any time - of course, this also applies to all adult and specialist literature available in German bookshops. If you order before 6pm, the book or audio book will usually be ready for pickup at the bookstore the next morning.

The Spiral Staircase

Nearly three decades ago, a bookstore opened on Brückenstraße in Sachsenhausen, specializing primarily in detective stories. Miss Marple, Philip Marlowe or Hercule Poirot have their home here, as well as rather unknown investigators and real crime secret tips. The experiment of opening the first crime bookshop on the European continent in Frankfurt, of all places, was a success. After only four years, the bookshop moved to a larger store, but remained loyal to Brückenstraße, where the WENDELTREPPE still enjoys unbroken popularity today. A special bookshop, where you can feel the love and passion with which work is done here.

Ypsilon Bookstore & Café

It's simply impossible to imagine Berger Street without the Ypsilon Bookstore and its adjoining Café. The bookstore offers a colorful assortment. In addition to bestsellers and local literature, there are also treasures from smaller publishers and lesser-known authors to be found here. Special classics and literature from other countries are also on the shelves here. The shop and the Café are also used again and again for great events like readings
