Gänseessen in Frankfurt & Rhein-Main - Top-Tipps

Gans gehört für Viele in der Vorweihnachtszeit einfach dazu. Besonders in der klassischen Variante mit Klößen, Maronen und Rotkohl erfreut sich die knusprig gebratene Gans ungebrochener Beliebtheit. Daher bieten viele Restaurants und Gaststätten in Frankfurt und im Rhein-Main-Gebiet ab November bis Weihnachten spezielle Gänse-Menüs an. Dabei verlässt man sich meist auf Bewährtes, versucht aber auch, dem traditionellen Gericht eine ganz eigene Note zu verleihen. Es gibt in Frankfurt zahlreiche Möglichkeiten, zu Zweit oder in größerem Kreis das traditionelle Gänseessen zu zelebrieren. 

Wir haben für Euch einmal ein paar Locations rausgesucht, wo Ihr auch 2021 wieder besonders lecker Gans essen könnt - von der klassischen Apfelweinwirtschaft bis zur gehobenen Küche. Margarete

From 11.11. it's goose time again at the Margarete! Then the breast and leg of the Lüneburg goose from free-range goose with cassis red cabbage, glazed chestnuts and gnocchis in nut butter crumbs with chives come to the plates.

If you want to enjoy goose at Margarete, a reservation is highly recommended!

Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt

In the new Old Town, Hans Peter Zarges and his team will serve delicious free-range goose from Oldenburg from 01.11. - 30.12.2021. Guests have then the choice between goose breast or goose leg with apple red cabbage, melted potato dumplings, glazed chestnuts and mugwort jus for 36,90 € each. For the small hunger there is freshly baked Wirtshaus sourdough bread from Jochen Gaues with lard from the Oldenburg free-range goose with freshly cut chives from Oberrad for 5.90 €.

Restaurant Alte Scheune

In the historic ambience of the Old Barn in Nieder-Erlenbach you will from 10.11.2021 ¼ goose with potato dumplings, red cabbage or Brussels sprouts and goose gravy offered.

But also whole geese can be ordered here. For 4 people, pre-order the classic goose stuffed with mince (for €135), the "Pommersche Börde" stuffed with mince, bacon and champions (for €135) or the "Golden Goose" glazed with honey and stuffed with mince, pears and walnuts (also for €135). The geese are served with Brussels sprouts, red cabbage, dumplings and goose gravy.

For Christmas, the goose to go can also be ordered. Pre-orders until 12/19/2021, only while supplies last! Pickup possible on 12/24 until 3:30 pm or 12/25 until 11 am

Flemings Selection Hotel Frankfurt-City

Goose to go is also available at the three participating Flemings Hotels in Frankfurt (from 01.11. - 26.12.2021). Simply select your hotel, order and pick up! The focus of the menu for four people and 159 euros is the oven-fresh, crispy roasted whole goose. The feast also includes red cabbage, delicious potato dumplings, baked apples, an exquisite goose sauce and two bottles of selected red wine. The whole thing can also be delivered by taxi if desired (the billing of the trip is done directly with the taxi driver)

In addition to the Flemings Selection Hotel Frankfurt-City, the Flemings Hotel Frankfurt Main Riverside and the Flemings Express Hotel Frankfurt are also participating in the Goose to Go action.

Aureus - Restaurant at the Gold Museum

Aureus Restaurant is continuing the "Golden Goose" promotion from 2020 into 2021. You should definitely pre-order your goose by 11,.11!

The Golden Aureus Goose consists of:

The traditional pub in Sachsenhausen is offering its goose this year from 29/10 - 23/12/2021. During this time, the Grauen Bock only serves goose and no food a la carte. Advance reservations are requested.

Jumeirah Frankfurt

The Max on One at the Jumeirah Frankfurt offers the Goose To Go by Christian Lohse until 23.12.2021 - pre-Christmas enjoyment from the two-star chef! Maingau

A real highlight is the city-famous MAINGAU-ABHOLGANS: An oven-fresh roasted Oldenburg goose with cranberry red cabbage, dreamy gravy, Franconian potato dumplings and marzipan marshmallow (cold, cut up and packed ready to carry) for 4 people at a price of 140 euros.

Here's the thing: Order in time! Last order acceptance date is expected to be December 15, 2021. Pre-orders can be placed by emailing Abholgans@maingau.de or calling 069-609140

From 01 November 2021, the city-famous pick-up goose can be paid for and collected daily from 9am-12pm at the reception desk after ordering.

On Christmas holidays (23, 24, 25 & 26 December 2021), the collection is only possible in the time of 10-11.30 Uhr möglich!

Zum Löwen

In Alt-Sossenheim is the Gasthaus Zum Löwen to house. At the member of the association ring of cider landlords there is from 01 November 2021 goose for four people fresh from the oven. The price of € 119.00 includes side dishes and a bottle of red wine. That it tastes really good here, prove numerous awards, such as the Gastronomiepreis Hessen.

Pantry

The Speisekammer in Alt Heddernheim offers tasty coziness as a remedy for the grey everyday life in autumn. Juicy, crispy goose,fresh from the oven, is here from October on the seasonal menu. Simply delicious!

Römer Pils Brunnen

In the winter season, goose according to grandma's recipe is on the menu at this traditional inn in downtown Frankfurt. Choices include roast goose leg and roast goose breast, each with chicken jus, potato dumplings, red apple cabbage and cranberries.

Schuch's Restaurant

Also in Alt Praunheim flutter from 01.11. the geese on the plate. In November and December, a special menu with crispy goose leg or tender goose breast is on the menu, with mugwort sauce and cranberry pears, plus potato dumplings along with apple red cabbage. Very tasty!

Wirtshaus Oberschweinstiege

From October 10 until the end of December 2021, it's goose time at Oberschweinstiege. You can choose between three variants:

Variant 1 (without pre-order) is the crispy roast goose with apple red cabbage, two kinds of dumplings, chestnuts, goose sauce and cranberry pears for €24.90 per person.

Variant 2 is a 3-course menu for €35.90 per person, which is also available without pre-ordering. In addition to pumpkin cream soup and roast goose, there is also homemade gingerbread ice cream to finish. Mmmmmh!

The third option is a 4-course menu with a whole goose, orderable from 2 people. The menu includes field salad as a starter, a pumpkin cream soup as a starter, the goose with chestnuts, two kinds of dumplings and apple red cabbage as a main course and a homemade gingerbread roasted apple tiramisu as a dessert. This option costs €45 per person.

Alternatively, there is also the "goose to go", either as a whole goose with everything for 4 people (for €99) or as a half goose for 2 people (with "half of everything") for €52. order HERE

Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt Gravenbruch

The Kempinski Gravenbruch Hotel is offering a delicious goose to go from November 11 to December 25 (while supplies last). In addition to a whole goose from the oven, there are also glazed chestnuts, orange jus, spiced apple red cabbage, glazed Brussels sprouts, potato dumplings, cranberries and 1 bottle of wine. The whole is enough for 4 - 5 people and costs 185 €.

Bornheimer Ratskeller

Reopened in 2018, Bornheimer Ratskeller invites you to stop in all year round. The open kitchen allows guests to look over the shoulder of chef Mario Furlanello's team as they prepare delicious dishes. In summer, however, it is especially nice: then the beer garden in the picturesque inner courtyard entices you outside - with a beautiful view of Bornheim. There one remains with a good glass of cider, a refreshing beer and exquisite delicacies from the kitchen gladly also times somewhat longer sit.

Ab 11.11.2021 starts also here again the goose season. Then the whole goose for 4 people can be pre-ordered. The menu consists of cream soup of Odenwald organic topinambur with goose liver strudel as a starter, roasted Rockenberger free-range goose from the Antony family with chestnut potato dumplings, red cabbage and homemade goose jus as a main course and baked apple with cinnamon parfait as a dessert. The menu costs €58 per person, excluding starter and dessert €40.
