Frankfurt am Main - Roasted almonds, bratwursts, pastries, Feuerzangenbowle and mulled wine - the Frankfurt Christmas Market offers a wide range of delicacies for all culinary preferences. That's why Frankfurt-Tipp.de has now searched for the second time for the most popular stand at the entire market. The winner was the "Glühwein Dealer" stand at the Schirn. From 23 November 2016 to 08 December 2016, users of the website had time to nominate their favourite of all the stands at the Christmas market. Votes were cast online at frankfurt-tipp.de - and the more than 50,000 fans of Frankfurt-Tipp's Facebook page also voted.
According to experience, there are countless small stalls serving mulled wine at Frankfurt's Christmas market. This is sometimes average, sometimes abominable or even quite excellent. According to Frankfurt-Tipp.de users, the latter applies to one stand in particular: the Glühwein Dealer at the Schirn. The wooden hut right in front of the associated wine bistro Weinschirn convinced the majority of Frankfurt-Tipp.de users. Two varieties of the popular hot drink are served: red and white. Owner Antje and Marcel Niemann and their team were happy that their mulled wine could prevail against all numerous competitors this year. Björn Fritsch, marketing manager of Trifels Verlag, presented them with the certificate.
Ten years ago, the Niemanns set up a small mulled wine stand in front of their shop for the first time: "Back then, everything was still very provisional. We simply wanted to test how our mulled wine was received by the visitors - in the meantime, we are highly professionally equipped", says landlord Marcel Niemann. The weinschirn is a popular meeting place for Frankfurt residents and friends of fine wines all year round. The cheeky name of the Christmas market booth "Glühwein Dealer" especially appeals to people who are normally not wine connoisseurs. "In the past, our stand didn't have a name, so some people called us Glühwein Dealer - that's why we called ourselves that."
This year, second place in the Frankfurt-Tipp.de voting was taken by last year's winner, the Feuerzangenbowle stand in front of Paulskirche. Frankfurt-Tipp users voted the Gourmet Imbiss am Römer run by Festwirt Eddy Hausmann into third place.
