Carmina Burana on the occasion of Carl Orff's 125th birthday
A birthday serenade on the occasion of Carl Orff's 125th birthday: his best-known work "Carmina Burana" will be performed at Mathildenhöhe. It is based on texts in Middle Latin and Middle High German from the 11th and 12th centuries, the Songs from Benediktbeuern.
For this performance in the version authorized by Orff for soloists (soprano, tenor, baritone), choir, 5 percussionists and 2 pianos, the Konzertchor Darmstadt will be back on stage in a smaller cast after a longer Corona break. The two piano parts will be played by Carmen Piazzini and Tomás Nessi, the direction is in the proven hands of Wolfgang Seeliger.
