Philippe Quesne, director, stage designer and visual artist, creates landscapes and living spaces in the theatre. The first thing he thinks of for his plays are the sets, which are micro-worlds and biotopes. For his latest theatrical adventure, Quesne creates the image of an island washed by the ocean, populated only by a few palm trees and a handful of animals. This idyll, however, comes to a sudden end. The few survivors of a plane crash begin to colonize it and indulge in the joys and mysteries of a Robinson Crusoe-type life. Full of heartwarming humor and a keen sense of the whimsical depths and foibles of human nature, Quesne and his ensemble embark on a journey that leads to the beginning of the world, the beginning of language. How about, for once, seeing the Crash not as the fateful end of the direction taken by humanity, but as a beginning, the starting point of an archaic theatre?
