Sitting surrounded by picturesque half-timbered houses in a cosy pub on an idyllic castle square and enjoying the view of an enchanting castle complex with a glass of cider - isn't that nice? No problem, because that's exactly what the Höchster Schlossplatz offers in the old town of Frankfurt's famous industrial district, which was almost completely spared during the Second World War. The castle, which has been the property of the German Foundation for the Protection of Historical Monuments since a ceremonial handover of the keys on March 8, 2002, forms the perfect backdrop for the Höchster Schlossfest, which has been turning Höchst's old town into a venue for a wide variety of cultural and civic events for more than 60 years.
This year, the castle festival is themed "Gebordsdaachskinner". In addition to the Old Town Festival (06. + 07.07.), the Kerbewochenende on the banks of the Main (12. - 15.07.) and the traditional closing fireworks (15.07., 22:30 clock) are still a French gourmet market on the castle square (12. - 15.07.), a knight camp in the moat (06. + 07.07.), the 4. Höchster Oldtimertreffen (07.07.), the 4th Höchster "Just White Dinner" (010.07.), an art market on the banks of the Main (06. + 07.07.), concerts, dance and much more.
To get you in the right mood, there will be the 1st Höchster Hafenfest with Riverside Picnic on 05 July. Thereby the new redeveloped harbour area will be opened with a picnic at the river.
