After last season's great success, author and publicist Carolin Emcke is once again a guest at Schauspiel Frankfurt. In her lecture performance, she addresses pressing questions that have recently been raised by the #MeToo debate. What are the images and concepts, what music and what practices shape our ideas of desire and unwantedness, how are the structures, the patterns, the norms formed into which men and women and everyone in between fit? Which skin colors, which bodies are particularly relegated to zones of powerlessness and silence? How can violence be unmasked and prevented, how can desire and pleasure be made possible? What languages are needed for this, what spaces, what alliances? With cheerful, angry, poetic, melancholic miniatures Carolin Emcke tries to approach the multi-layered facets of the questions of sexuality and truth.
