For the 28th time, the Cultural Summer will take place in Rüsselsheim in 2019 between June 15 and July 14. Visitors can look forward to nearly 50 events from 22 Rüsselsheim organizers. For 27 years, Kultur123 City of Rüsselsheim has organized nundas traditional festival: "Rüsselsheim holds great creative potential. Through the event series 'Culture in Summer',many local artists already presented their talents and started their careers from there. It is important to us to make visible: Rüsselsheim has culture and creativity." Dennis Grieser (Greens), Mayor and Head of the Department of Culture, is once again pleased about the numerous applicants to the series of events that make Rüsselsheim a diverse cultural location: "The city needs the creativity of its residents. We are committed to promoting young talent in art and culture." The City of Rüsselsheim has been supporting local cultural institutions, associations and artists in this context for almost three decades. Karin Krömer describes the task of Kultur123 Stadt Rüsselsheim as follows: "We provide the resources, especially the technical supply, the financial means and the press and public relations. In this way we offer the actors the possibility of a public platform." Numerous favourite places in Rüsselsheim will be played again this time. Mentioned here are: the small fortress courtyard, the Main foreland and also the Verna Park. All interest and age groups are considered in the extensive program. With readings, theatre, concerts, art actions and more, the most diverse interests will be served. A musical highlight will already take place on the opening weekend: The MGV-Liederkranz presents the audience on Saturday, June 15 with "SoundTruck" a spectacular interplay of the "CantaRona Choir", the "Handharmonika- und Akkordeon-Club-Orchester", as well as the guest choir "Starke Töne". And all this on an unusually mobile stage: the loading area of a real truck, on the grounds of the Stadtwerke. As a new organizer this time, the Freie Kunst und Kulturverein e. V. is involved in the Kultursommer, bringing concerts, art actions and more to the Mainvorland on four dates. Children's programs are provided by the Friday summer cafés organized by Kultur123 Stadt Rüsselsheim in cooperation with parent associations of Rüsselsheim day-care centers. This year, three of the four summer cafés will again take place in the Ostpark, where they have already been held in previous years. The popular Rüsselsheim Wine Festival in Verna Park will once again entice visitors to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere this summer of culture. For the fourth time in a row, the Rüsselsheim WINEcrew will provide its visitors with culinary and musical highlights from July 5 to 7. In the small fortress courtyard, "Das verdammte Volkstheater" will present the play "Wann kommst du wieder, roter Reiter?" from Friday, June 21 to Saturday, June 29. This year, the guided tours in the summer of culture will be organised by the Rüsselsheim City and Industrial Museum. Among other things, visitors can look forward to a horse-drawn carriage ride to the Königstädter Waldwiesen on Wednesday, June 19.
