Many international greats such as Peter Gabriel and Sting swear by his skills in the studio and in their live bands. But besides his contribution to countless pop world hits such as Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" or Sting's "Englishman In New York", Manu Katché regularly releases highly regarded albums under his own name. His music is characterized by catchy and clear melodies, which he skilfully stages in atmospheric soundscapes. For his latest work, "The Scope", the French musician and his new quartet deliberately chose an electronic context in which he gives free rein to his special feeling for the flow of music. Since jazz runs like a red thread through Manu Katché's work, a certain melancholy always clings to his new songs, despite all the use of electronic sound, which should be able to live excellently with the attribute "noir".
