"Martin Gerschwitz was born on June 25, 1952 in Solingen, Germany, started playing the piano at the age of 5, at 12 he dedicated himself to classical music. He founded his first band in 1969. In 1972 he won the "Battle of the Bands" in Solingen. He accompanied the singer Howard Carpendale from 1974 to 1977. In 1985 he moved to the United States. There he performed with Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, Vanilla Fudge, among others. Accompanied Eric Burdon & The New Animals with the keyboard. Since 2005, he has been the vocalist and keyboardist for the band Iron Butterfly. In the 2000s he formed " Martin Gerschwitz & Friends ", including his old friend Dieter Rubach on bass, Jan Mengeling on guitar and Martin Schwebel on drums. Martin Gerschwitz continues to tour worldwide with Iron Butterfly as well as solo projects. Martin Gerschwitz has shared the stage with names like Scorpions , Cinderella, Eddie Van Halen , Loverboy, Tim Bogert, Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, John Entwhistle of The Who, Steve Stevens, Britny Fox, UDO , Melanie Safka , Julian Thome, Andy Susemihl and many more. Many names from this are known worldwide."
