Scenic Reading (Literaturland Hessen: A Day for Literature)
.From the Hambach Festival and the storming of the guards, through the first German parliament and the Prussian occupation of Frankfurt, to the founding of the German Empire and the end of the Bismarck era, the Frankfurt poet Friedrich Stoltze journalistically accompanied his century as a convinced republican and democrat.
Michael Quast recites in his inimitable manner some of Stoltze's most important political articles and poems as well as excerpts from his correspondence and presents Stoltze as a political humorist of the 19th century. He presents Stoltze as a political humorist of the 19th century, who was also himself involved in the events of the time, for example when he was arrested at the Konstablerwache with a toy pistol containing pea ammunition.
