Erzulie, the voodoo goddess, has finally landed in Europe. She is still in search of sweets and obsessed with everything beautiful in this world.
The dance ensemble SHADEseasons premieres "Erzulie lets revue", the third part of their Erzulie trilogy, after "Erzulie, where are my sweets?" (2011) and "Erzulie Possessio" (2015), at the Gallus Theater Frankfurt.
In this abstract contemporary dance revue, Erzulie encounters new customs and mores and looks back on her life so far and her eventful experiences. Her travels have taken her from Africa, to Haiti, to the mainland of North, Central and South America. Everywhere she went, she absorbed new knowledge and in return passed on her old knowledge.
The two dancers, Britta Schönbrunn and Aleksandra Maria Scibor, are Erzulie with all her different facets. They tell, sing and dance the life story of Erzulie - sometimes only voodoo goddess, then again patron saint and fighter, or goddess of love and dance.
