The Temptations are the epitome of "Soul Music made in USA". World hits like "Papa was a rolling stone" and "Treat her like a Lady" with over 100 million LPs sold made them legends. The list of their gold and platinum awards as well as Grammy Awards is almost inexhaustible. Already in 1999 they were inducted into the "Vocal Group Hall of Fame" and are still considered the best American soul band of all time.
Fancy stage choreographies experienced new dimensions with the TEMPTATIONS in the mid-60s: No group had previously attracted attention for similarly cool dancing and showmanship. The unmistakable trademark of the "TEMP'S", however, became their polyphonic falsetto and sentence singing. The term "boy band" was born. For over three decades THE TEMPTATIONS dominated the soul charts around the globe. Only Michael Jackson has surpassed these achievements.
The legendary Motown sound celebrates its 60th anniversary and is more current than ever. Thanks to eleven top musicians, it continues to groove through concert halls around the world today.
